Department Introduction

Department Introduction

The Institute of Continuing Education Program (ICEP) at Karakoram International University’s Diamer Campus is the region’s first provider of post-secondary, short-cycle education. It offers flexible professional and vocational qualifications that help young people and adults gain valuable skills, improve their employment prospects, and increase their income.

VISION:

Transforming ICT, Language, and Technical skills to youth of District Diamer for self-Empowerment and to generate skilled force to face future challenges and to cope with the upcoming smart world.

MISSION:

ICE is playing a role in developing and changing the Diamer region so that, the living standards of this area would improve and Diamer should be able to go side by side with the other parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. ICE is generating skilled labor for the future. In the Diamer region, most of the population does not get formal education (more than 70% of people are illiterate). While considering this scenario, our institution provides a platform for youth, especially for females, where they get technical and ICT skills. Furthermore, ICE will help the Diamer community (especially youth) to prepare themselves for future challenges with ICT, Language skills, and other technical skills. ICE will change the mindset of the Diamer community.

Furthermore, this will help people to utilize their brains in a productive way so that after becoming skilled they can serve for their community. As we know, Diamer is the gateway for CPEC and tourism. ICE is also empowering women by providing a learning platform where they get equal learning opportunities as men.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

In the challenging region of Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan, our goal is to help the community understand the value of technical and technological skills. The main objective of the ICE is to provide rural youth with marketable skills and technology that will enable them to become self-employed.
